Introducing: Anahita Rouyan (Bologna)

Visiting Scholar am Deutschen Museum and LMU

Anahita Rouyan will be a History of Science Visiting Scholar at Deutsches Museum and LMU from September 2017 until March 2018. She received her doctorate from the University of Bologna in Science, Cognition, and Technology (2017), with a dissertation entitled: “Shaping Public Discourses of Nature: Biological Mutation in the American Press, 1820-1945”. Her work investigates the circulation of scientific knowledge among expert and lay audiences, in particular the accommodation of concepts from life sciences in print media. During her visit in Munich, Anahita plans to examine the dissemination of concepts and theories of plant heredity in the German press and agricultural publications during the first decade of the twentieth century.
