Aufgabengebiet

Historiker der Geistes- und Naturwissenschaften.

Ich arbeite derzeit an zwei Buchprojekten: an einer Geschichte des Gegensatzes zwischen den Geistes- und den Naturwissenschaften, die bei Princeton University Press erscheinen wird. Das Buch basiert auf meiner 2022 an der LMU München angenommenen Habilitation "Before the Two Cultures".

Das weite Buch, an dem ich arbeite, ist ein Sammelband über "Epistemological Excess in Early Modern Art and Science: Coping with Copia", der bei Amsterdam University Press erscheinen wird und den ich zusammen mit Itay Sapir (Montréal) herausgebe.

Mein erstes Buch (Ein Zentaur in London, 2014) ist inzwischen, finanziert durch den Sonderpreis des Übersetzungsförderprogramms "Geisteswissenschaften International", ins Englische übersetzt worden und ist 2023 bei Johns Hopkins University Press erschienen.

Ich bin Mitherausgeber der "Berichte zur Wissenschaftsgeschichte"/"History of Science and Humaninties".
Ich bin Mitglied der Advisory Boards des "Journal for the History of Knowledge" sowie der Reihe "Studies in the History of Knowledge" (Amsterdam UP).

Historian of science and the humanities.

I am currently working on two book projects: the first, contracted with Princeton University Press, is a history of the divide between the sciences and the humanities. It is based on my Habilitation (Munich, 2022).

The second, contracted with Amsterdam University Press, is a collected volume that I am editing with Itay Sapir (Montréal) on "Epistemological Excess in Early Modern Art and Science: Coping with Copia".

My first book (Ein Zentaur in London, 2014) has been awarded the "Sonderpreis" of the translation funding program "Geisteswissenschaften International" and has since been translated into English. The English version was published in 2023 by Johns Hopkins University Press.

I am one of the editors of the international journal "Berichte zur Wissenschaftsgeschichte" / "History of Science and Humanities".
I serve on the Advisory Boards of the "Journal for the History of Knowledge" and the series "Studies in the History of Knowledge" (Amsterdam UP).
